Safari Drive

The floor of the Rift Valley teems with wildlife making it one of the treasures of the continent. Game drives are available both morning and evening using Mara Leisure Camp’s vehicles and knowledgeable driver guides. Alternatively, guests may opt to use their own vehicles, perhaps with a ranger guide hired from the Narok County Council or Masai Mara National Reserve.

The wildebeest and zebras migrate from the Serengeti in Tanzania to the Masai Mara in Kenya. They take 4 months (July – October). The months of July and August are the best times to see what is truly the world’s most spectacular migration and experience the dramatic sights that happen in the swollen Mara River. You should request a wake up at 5.30-6.00a.m for the early morning game drive, which is usually the most rewarding. Tea and coffee in the Camp’s reception area is served before you depart.

Wildlife closest to the Camp includes elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, waterbuck, giraffes, Zebras, wildebeest and warthog. On a lucky day one is likely to see a cheetah, the fastest animal in Africa.
